Things could actually turn positive right way for Meredith and the whole hospital when "Grey's Anatomy" season 12 returns on Feb. 11.
Spoilers and set photos for episode 10, entitled "All I Want Is You," teased that things will return to normal despite Meredit's harrowing attack. Official synposis for episode 10 read, "As the hospital deals with Meredith's trauma, Callie and Maggie perform a risky, experimental surgery on Alex's 15-year-old patient against his professional opinion," Melty reported. "Meanwhile, Owen and Nathan are still at odds with each other, and Maggie and Andrew's relationship continues to develop."
This is good news for fans who are relatively tired of watching Meredith suffer almost every season. Showrunner Shonda Rhimes has even hinted in a previous interview that all the painful things Mrs. McDreamy had to endure will eventually transform her into a stronger, more beautiful woman.
"Meredith is single and she is living this life that she's never thought she'd be living again," she told TV Line. "The evolution... is beautiful."
Shona also hinted that despite the brutal attacks on the season premiere, "Grey's Anatomy" season 12 will have a lighter feel compared with season 11. By the way it looks, fans will just have to endure Meredith's suffering in the first few episodes before they see her transformation.
"[Meredith] has had a lot of brushes with death," Actress Kelly McCreary (Maggie) said when asked about Meredith's fate in the past seasons.
"But this time is different because, as Sarah Drew has actually pointed out, in other instances where Meredith came close to death, she has had a little bit of control over the situation. She could save herself in some way, or make a choice that might help herself. But in this case she's physically impaired in a way that she has not been before."
