Dick Grayson's last appearance in a Batman film was the critically panned "Batman And Robin" starring George Clooney. In Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight" trilogy, he featured a possible batman in the form of John Blake.

The police officer played by Joseph Gordon Levitt was an aid to Christian Bale's Batman as he tried to take down Blake. In the end of "The Dark Knight Rises," Blake is risen and is supposedly given the reigns to the Bruce Wayne's underground base.

According to comicbook.com, fans have continued to wonder what happened to the character and if it indeed was a set up for a Robin series in the expanded D.C. universe. The actor did say that if there was a future film for Blake's character.

"It's amazing and so wonderful to be part of a film like 'The Dark Knight Rises,'" Levitt said in an interview. "But as far as Robin is concerned, that's not up to me. I don't have the rights to that character. If there's a script I find inspiring and a filmmaker I have a connection with, I'm interested."

He then said on Screen Rant that he did not believe that the 3rd film's ending was not a beginning of a new story line or a possible Nightwing set up.

"I don't think [the ending of 'The Dark Knight Rises'] is necessarily a set-up," JGL said. "I think it is the great ending for that trilogy. Even if you go back to 'Batman Begins,' he's talking about how Batman is more than a man, it's a symbol, and a hero can be anybody and we all have heroes inside of us."

It was also reported by comicbook.com that Dick Grayson could make his return to the movies in the upcoming "Suicide Squad" film.

In addition, Scott Eastwood is rumored to play Robin in the film centered around D.C.'s top villains. The reason behind Eastwood's unknown role is that it could possibly be the biggest reveal in the film where Dick Grayson goes undercover in among the villainous crew Suicide Squad as Agent 47. Fans believe that D.C. chose to start anew and did not sign JGL for the upcoming Nightwing films.
