With the absence of any marquee players, with the exemption of Blake Griffin, the NBA trade rumors this year are quite subdued.
The latest in the Blake Griffin sweepstakes is that the Los Angeles Clippers will allegedly trade him to either Atlanta Hawks of Denver Nuggets.
The Hawks have been previously reported to be listening to offers for Al Horford and with his expanding skill set-after adding a three-point shot to his arsenal-the Clippers would hardly miss a step if they send Blake Griffin to the East for the 6-10 forward.
And here comes another tweet from NBA writer Mitch Lawrence who alleged, "The Clippers have talked to the Nuggets about trading Blake Griffin to Denver, per NBA sources."
Nevertheless, it doesn't seem likely that the Clippers will trade Blake Griffin unless they get another marquee player in return.
In other NBA trade rumors, Greg Monroe is reportedly on the block as the Milwaukee Bucks might break up its young core.
"Carter-Williams isn't the only frontline player the Bucks are apparently willing to move," Gery Woelfel wrote for Racine Journal Times. "A much bigger surprise is the Bucks have made known that center Greg Monroe is available at the right price, according to some NBA officials."
Meanwhile, David Lee is also dragged into NBA trade rumors, although that's not surprising in the least.
Bleacher Report writer Howard Beck tweeted, "Some trade buzz: BOS intends to move David Lee by Feb. 18 deadline, or buy him out. Lee is out of rotation and wants a role somewhere."
David Lee has struggled cracking the rotation in the Boston Celtics and has been relegated to playing backup in the coaching staff's decision to go small ball.
Beck added, "David Lee has handled his situation like a pro, as always. But he's understandably not content to ride the bench."
The deadline is on Feb. 18, the NBA trade rumors will surely amp up in the coming days.
