The latest Suber Bowl 50 has not only brought with it an unforgettable game and a heart-stopping half-time performance but also a long list of movie trailers, "Bourne 5" included. Previous reports have revealed possible plot details as hinted by "Bourne 5" lead, Matt Damon, and this time, the trailer unveiled what's different this time around.
The first "Bourne 5" trailer has revealed so much about the return of the lead character in the franchise. While the last "Bourne" film, "The Bourne Legacy" was led by Jeremy Renner's character, Aaron Cross, "Bourne 5" brings back the main character portrayed by none other than Matt Damon.
In an interview with EW, Matt Damon shared details about "Bourne 5" and how things will fall into place as he is found again for the series. "We find him in a dark and tortured place," revealed Matt Damon prior to the release of the "Bourne 5" trailer.
"There's been the financial collapse, the great recession, all these issues of cyberwarfare and civil liberties," added the "Bourne 5" lead.
Apart from "Bourne 5" taking a higher level of darkness as revealed by Matt Damon, the trailer also revealed a bit of details about the state of Matt Damon's character.
In the latest "Bourne 5" trailer, Matt Damon returns looking a bit more buff than the previous "Bourne" films as pointed out by TheVerge. This could mean that while Aaron Cross took over the storyline for the "Bourne" franchise for a while, Jason Bourne on the other hand wasn't taking it easy. How "Bourne 5" fits into the timeline remains to be seen, but definitely, the latest Matt Damon-led "Bourne" installment will tie up everything that was left hanging when Jason Bourne disappeared.
The newest "Bourne 5" trailer also revealed that Matt Damon's character has finally gotten hold of the memory he lost in the past "Bourne" installments. With his memory now complete, narration for the film reveals the return of "Bourne 5" will also unveil the perfect weapon that Matt Damon's character was meant to be.
