Instagram has taken another development leap as account switching has been made possible for both iOS and Android users.

Social media Instagram has now taken another step in development as the photo-centered app has made account switching official. TheVerge reported the new update of Instagram that allows users to switch between accounts easier, without having to logout and log back in. "After testing the feature on both Android and iOS in recent months, Instagram today announced that it's officially launching multi-account support inside the photo sharing social app," said the report.

"Now, users can maintain more than one account on the same device," it added. "With the rise of profiles dedicated to businesses, pets, and any number of other things, it was inevitable that Instagram would make it all a bit easier to manage," the report pointed out.

Instagram shared the good news in its official blog, adding the information that the latest account switching update will be made available to a certain version of the app. "Account switching will be available as part of Instagram version 7.15 for iOS and Android," the blog pointed out.

Using the account switching update to your iOS or Android is fairly easy. The same site revealed the simple steps to go by the changes. "Go to your profile settings to add an additional account," it said. "From there, tap your username at the top of your profile to switch between accounts. Once you have multiple accounts added, you'll see your profile photo appear in places throughout the app so you can always tell which one you're using at the moment," added the instructions.

Instagram's move to allow account switching has been loosely based on the rising "finstagram" accounts created by the youth. Techcrunch pointed out that "for casual Instagram users, the ability between multiple accounts may seem like a minor thing. But for a large part of Instagram's young adult community, the addition will have a much larger impact on how they use the service," it added.
