Wrestling fans went hysterical when WWE's biggest superstars announced his return in the upcoming Wrestlemania 32.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson confirmed he would be attending the event as seen on Bleacher Report. However, the Rock has neither confirmed nor denied if he would be wrestling in Dallas, Texas. He also said that a potential match with Triple H would be epic in the event.
"Look, the platform is there," The Rock said. "You have Dallas and could set an attendance record, so that's the first goal. And then what is the match that allows us to do that? I've had incredible matches with Triple H, so I'm not ruling it out, but I'm not saying it is going to happen."
"We continue to talk about it, and we're still shooting each other text messages. He sent me a message from Dallas that said, 'This could be us. The record is ours.' So we'll see."
In an interview with Esquire, the Rock said that wrestling is still in his heart despite his successful acting career.
"Wrestling is intimate," he said. "You can reach out and touch the wrestlers. I don't get that connection in movies, but the impact is so much greater. You're able to craft a longer career in movies."
"In wrestling, there's a shelf life, and some wrestlers don't pay attention to the shelf life," he admitted. "Mickey Rourke's character in 'The Wrestler'-that was my dad, that was my uncles, that was so many members of my family."
"It was the only thing they knew. And then they would end up wrestling for a hundred bucks, go to autograph signings for two hundred bucks," he added.
According to cagesideseats.com, the Rock is expected to be on the side of Roman Reigns. This would be symbolic as a potential turnover to the new people's champion. The Rock has been speculated to be prevented from wrestling due to injury clauses in his movie contracts.
