TV and Broadway veteran Taye Diggs has just landed a significant role for the momentous 300th episode of "NCIS" airing March 15 and Diggs' guest appearance will mean that one of TV's most watched drama is getting a little musical.
TV Line, in its report, confirmed that "NCIS" guest actor Taye Diggs for the 300th episode will play the role of Marine Gunnery Sergeant Aaron Davis, a Special Ops sniper who suffered traumatic injuries and Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome or PTSS after an ambush attack in Iraq.
It added that Diggs' character, Aaron Davis, has been staying at Walter Reed Medical Center for six months already, taking a "slow but effective rehab" through a cutting-edge therapy program.
Aaron Davis was once a "free spirit and gifted musician" before the tragedy happened. When Gibbs (Mark Harmon), accordingly, needs to approach Davis to solve a murder case, which is connected to the ambush that recoiled Davis.
Carter Matt commented that the role of Taye Diggs will "raise plenty of eyebrows," pointing out what critics had been saying about how the upcoming episode and Diggs' character is a story of countless men in the military in this era. Carter Matt, however, appreciates how "NCIS" and its 300th episode is centering in on the core of the show and giving honor to those who have been in the military.
"For our 300th episode, we needed a guest actor who could proudly portray one of our nation's wounded warriors as well as participate in a very touching musical performance," "NCIS" showrunner Gary Glasberg said in a statement.
He added, "This emotionally charged role is tailor-made for Taye Diggs and we are so thrilled and honored to have him join us."
Taye Diggs is known for his appearances in "Private Practice, "Day Break," a lead role in "Murder in the First," "Rosewood," "The Good Wife," and "New Girl."
