The studio claimed that the extended deadline was necessary in order to deliver the company's ambitious vision and to further ensure that the company lives up to the expectations of the fans.
"This will give us the time needed to bring to life all the innovative features and thrilling gameplay experience that we have panned," as posted in the Platinum Games official website.
Nonetheless, the studio moreover pledged to show more of the game later this year.
For the information of everybody, "Scalebound" is a third-person action RPG game, where players assume control of Drew, who is accompanied by a mythical beast called Thuban.
MidDay Daily, in its report, noted that game players can use a variety of weapons to defeat adversaries and may issue commands to the dragon, which assists players amid the battles.
It is also worth noting that the game puts more focus on graphical qualities and role-playing aspect rather than the action side, unlike other games developed by Platinum Games.
Meanwhile, Microsoft marketing manager, Aaron Greenberg, recently shed some additional light on the said release date defernment, in an interview with IGN.
"As we're looking at the line-up for this year, and where [developer Platinum Games] are [with 'Scalebound']--what their aspirations are; that game is super-aspirational...we want to be able to give them enough time and resources to do that," Greenberg said, as noted by Game Spot.
Indeed, "Scalebound" apparently need an ample development time for it to become a better game, loaded with a lot of spectacular features when it launches in early 2017.
