Kerry Washington's character is a former media consultant to President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn), who is ready to move on with her life but keeps haunted by her past.
According to Design & Trend, ABC released a new teaser for "Scandal" season 5 episode 10 and it showed Olivia talking to Abby played by Darby Stanchfield.
"I would tell you or anyone else, 'Just suck it up and get over it.' I'd say, 'Quit being a baby. Stop thinking about yourself. Pick up the phone and do what's best for your client,'" Olivia told Abby.
"Excellent Olivia Pope advice," Abby replied.
"Then why don't I seem to be able to take it?" Olivia said.
Aside from Olivia Pope's encounter with Abby, viewers can expect to see in the live stream of "Scandal" season 5 episode 10 some awkward encounters with President Fitz, who is still not aware that Kerry Washington's character had an abortion.
According to Variety, the episode that revealed Olivia's abortion gained controversy and ABC was aware of the consequence that's why they added "viewer discretion" disclaimer before they aired the show. They also informed the advertisers who retained their contract and the rating of the show was the same.
"As always, there's discussion: Are you going to alienate viewers?" an ABC source said.
"It might be distasteful, but it isn't so outrageous in the life of this character," another source explained. "It was all sensitively done. These are incredibly flawed, complex characters. This is who these people are."
While Olivia Pope keeps her abortion a secret, she will make things more complicated by hooking up with Jake Ballard played by Scott Foley in "Scandal" season 5 episode 10 and fans can watch it via live stream on Hulu, ABC and Sidereel.
