GoPro has been mum about the details surrounding their first ever action-camera drone, the GoPro Karma since rumors circulated that it will be released alongside the GoPro Hero 5 this year.
Despite the very little news about its specifications, release date and other details, the action-camera manufacturer has released a teaser video for its 'Karma'.
According to a report from RT, it can be seen in the video that Bobby Brown, a freestyle skier, is skating down the slopes of Aspen Snowmass in Colorado. The camera flies high while shooting him doing his air flip exhibition.
It is rumored that the new camera drone will offer the 360-degree angle with a resolution of 4k, iDigitalTimes reported. Though there may be a lot of competition with other established drone cameras like the DJI Phantom 3 Professional, the report assured that the video teaser released by GoPro looks promising, and the camera seems impressive.
There are speculations that the new action camera drone is being prepared to pick up sales for the company as it was reported that GoPro has suffered a significant loss in sales over the past year. The company has since then cut workforce to their workforce to 7 percent.
And a not so positive news again hit them as GoPro announced that their profits fell from $634 million to $436.6 million starting fourth quarter of 2014 to fourth quarter of 2015, RT reported.
Even though the video teaser might look promising and impressive, details about its internal hardware have not yet been revealed, according to iDigitalTimes.
Since the camera drone is first of its kind which users have never come across to, a 360-degree angle and a 4k resolution action-camera drone, it can probably be the solution to the looming fate GoPro have ahead of them in case their company's financial situation worsens over the coming months.
As for the GoPro Hero 5 release date, it was rumored that it was pushed back to October of this year.
