Fans of the TV series, "The Good Wife" will be seeing it for the final time this May. According to eonline.com, this seventh season will be the show's last.
The final season can expect the return of Margo Martindale, Carrie Preston and Gary Cole. In an interview with Variety, the producers of the show said that they intended to end the show after 7 seasons.
"The story of Alicia Florrick could only support seven seasons," said Robert King.
"We felt very fortunate and flattered that we're being allowed to end the show with the other writers and the other producers the way we hoped it would end," said Michelle King.
"This isn't a show that's ending because anybody hates each other," added Robert King. "It's a show that's ending because it should be ending."
They would not reveal any spoilers but somehow confirmed that Kalinda, who is played by Archie Panjabi, will not be returning.
"Kalinda went off deliberately to disappear," said Michelle. "It wouldn't make any sense for her to come back."
When asked about a potential reunion between Kalinda and Alicia, Robert King said that it is unlikely. He also mentioned that Panjabi who plays Kalinda is now on a new show on ABC called "The Jury."
"Again, we really try to follow what makes sense for the characters," Michelle said about the possibility of returning characters. "Kalinda went off deliberately to disappear and we're honoring that choice. It wouldn't make any sense for her to come back."
When asked about a possible reboot, the producers said it's still a possibility.
"Nothing's off the table," Michelle said when asked about a possible spinoff. "Sure, maybe, we're not saying no to anything at this point," she concluded.
