CeeLo Green and Danger Mouse are reportedly regrouping to create a new album for their duo Gnarls Barkley.
In an interview with NME last year, the "Forget You" singer reportedly talked to his partner and introduced the idea of bringing their powers together and record new music together.
"I just talked to Danger Mouse last night," CeeLo Green said of the new Gnarls Barkley album. "I told him, 'This is the next thing we should do.' I know he's about to do the Red Hot Chili Peppers' album. I hope he does great with that, but I said, 'Hey, I need you to be able to split your attention. We need another Gnarls album and so do the people.'"
Although with the two members currently busy with their own projects, the new Gnarls Barkley album may reportedly come later than expected or when they finish with their current projects.
CeeLo Green is currently on the road for a few shows while Danger Mouse is currently finishing up with the new Red Hot Chili Peppers album.
Furthermore, the former "The Voice" coach stated his plans for the next release, wherein he stated it to be a prequel of their previous releases.
"This album is a prequel to the rest of the music I want to release in the very near future," Green said. "(It's) the start of a new beginning."
While Green is waiting for the right time to come for Gnarls Barkley to work on a new album, he revealed his songwriting process of his own work in a New Zealand Herald report.
"It's always personal to some degree, but much more introspective this time around - more introspective than I've been able to be, had the opportunity of being, the pleasure of being, over the last five years professionally," he said. "The last time I did it to this degree was under the alias Gnarls Barkley."
