The HTC One M10 release date is still up in the air but it doesn't look like its gonna be a big hit.

There were a lot of leaks and rumors that gave consumers a better look at the upcoming smartphone by HTC. While the specs were something to be excited about, the latest leak of the design gave the impression that the phone is just a replica of Apple's iPhone.

According to Gotta Be Mobile, the new HTC smartphone may be given a completely different name in order to separate itself from the M9 that failed in 2015. Though there isn't an official name to call the new device, the leaks have already painted a picture for those who are interested in getting the phone.

"The HTC One for 2016 will have a slightly bigger 5.1-inch 2560 x 1440 Quad-HD display," explained the site. "A powerful 8-core Snapdragon 820 processor with 3-4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage with a micro-SD slot, a bigger battery, and a much improved 12 ultrapixel camera similar to the iPhone 6s or upcoming Galaxy S7 and more."

"Then we’re hearing it will feature an improved all aluminum design, and a front fingerprint scanner that looks like a mix between the button on Samsung devices, and Apple’s iPhone. Blending the two to look slightly different, while offering improved security, features and more."

The specs of the HTC One M10 could have consumers ready to purchase it on its release date but there is also the worry that it may be launched too late.

The phone was reportedly going to be released in April, which is within the same time frame as the release date of the M9 last year, but the accurate leak source Evan Blass posted on Twitter that the phone will be coming out in North America on May 9, 2016.

This could very well be the latest release of a smartphone by HTC considering competitors like Samsung and LG will be releasing their newest smartphones in March.

The HTC One M10 release date hasn't been finalized yet but those who are loyal consumers to the brand will be glad to know that the HTC smartwatch will be available to the public by the end of April.
