Only a couple of months to go and the biggest and longest-running fighting game tournaments in the world, Evolution Champion Series (EVO), will once again slay another year of a dazzling exhibition of skills and fun!
Excited? But before that, how about we know first the final line-up of dazzling games that players ought to expect in this year's EVO tournament, yes?
Before January 2016 ended, event co-founder Joey Cuellar finally revealed the final line-up and discussed why each game was included. Shoryuken, in its report, noted the nine games that will feature in the main competition, including two fresh debuts and one returning favorite games.
Contenders from across the world are set to gather at EVO 2016 to take on challengers in "Street Fighter V," "Super Smash Bros. Melee," "Mortal Kombat X," "Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3" and "Guilty Gear Xrd - Revelator."
What's more, to complete the nine dazzling and thrilling games line-up - "Super Smash Bros. for Wii U," "Pokken Tournament," Tekken 7" and "Killer Instinct" were more added.
"EVO 2016 is set to bring together the best of the best from around the world in a dazzling exhibition of skill and fun, as players and fans gather to honor the competitive spirit in an open format and determine a champion," as described in EVO's official website.
Aside from that, the highly anticipated EVO 2016 moreover denote a significant expansion for the event in terms of floor space, as it was revealed that the major tournaments will be taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Center and Mandalay Bay sports arena.
"Mr. Wizard also stated, in regards to DLC and updates, that any content that comes out, at least, five weeks before EVO will be tournament viable. This means the new Smash 4 characters will be fair game, and we'll have an idea of which SF5 and MKX DLC characters will be legal," Event Hubs reported.
All things said, it seems that EVO 2016 undeniably has a set of exciting games that game players across the globe will surely look forward to. Excited? The highly anticipated tournament will take place from July 15 to 17.
