Fans of the famous RPG "Final Fantasy" can rejoice as they can now expect when the release date of the 15th installment will be announced.
According to Wired, Director Hajime Tabata said that they will make the announcement in March.
In an interview with Polygon, Tabata said that FFXV was made for the fans.
"With Type-0 HD, we started the project because of our fans, so we want to ensure that we're able to deliver the experience to them properly," Tabata said. "With 15, we're looking even further ahead and really want to make an evolved version of Final Fantasy. Both games are very much worth our time."
"We received a lot of letters during that time saying that people were really looking forward to Final Fantasy being released," Tabata added. "It felt great that entertainment was helping people keep their heads up so they could have something to look forward to.
"In terms of the franchise as a whole, there is no directive or a clear direction that we're moving towards for this generation," Tabata said when asked about the future of the franchise.
The highly anticipated "Final Fantasy XV" is set to be released in 2016 and has gotten updates regarding its plot.
According to gamespot.com, Tabata assured fans by that the release would be this year. "We can certainly say to people: it's not going to be 2017. It's going to be before that," he said.
Tabata then said "At the very least, I can tell you that it isn't going to be released this year. I think we'll be able to tell you when we're making the announcement around PAX Prime, at the end of this month."
He then shared "I understand why people are feeling that way after coming to Cologne and speaking to a lot of the media," he said. "We really do get the feeling that people are a bit worried. Certainly, one thing I would like to say to them to reassure them, is that we've set down the release date, we know when it is, and we've got a complete road map lined up, right up to launch, and we're proceeding along that as planned."
