The world mourned the untimely death of the legendary rock and pop singer David Bowie in the beginning of this year. The music fraternity is busy paying their tributes in the form of music to Bowie. Kanye West is planning to make an album of David Bowie covers and interpretations.
As per the latest report of the guardian, the 38-year old singer West has provoked the fans of the legendary singer.
Gigwise reported that the fans of Bowie do not want West to take that attempt to pay a tribute to the legendary singer Bowie. West is planning to release his own versions of the greatest hit singles of Bowie ''Changes,'' ''Heroes'' and ''Rebel, Rebel.''
The guardian did another story where they mentioned that there are many pockets in the international music scene who dislike Kanye West. Going by that theory, it is possible that the people who do not like him want him to stop from paying tribute to Bowie. The Guardian also mentioned that in today's mainstream music, West might have the music sense and versatility which is closest Bowie.
Looking at the track record of West, the number of records he has managed to sell, and the kind of experiment he does with his music, there are many music critics who feel that West should go ahead with this attempt.
''Some are straightforward cover versions with Kanye actually singing. On others he is rapping with his own lyrics over Bowie's music" Daily star reported. It is reported that the fans of David Bowie are upset with this attempt of West.
Peter Piranha, a fan of Bowie is running a signature campaign. ''David Bowie was one of the single most important musicians of the 20th and 21st century, it would be a sacrilege to let it be ruined by Kanye West" states the opening of his signature campaign.
So what will be the fate of this tribute album? Will West go ahead with it without bothering about what others have to say?
