Early this month, news about Fitbit tracking a wearer's heartbreak made the online news rounds. According to several reports, Koby Soto, co-founder of the app Guesty from Tel Aviv, noticed that his Fitbit captured the changes in his physiology around the time he got dumped by his boyfriend through the phone. While still reeling from the events, Soto has since gushed about the technology. He explains that the date his Fitbit recorded is proof that heartbreak also takes a toll on one's body.
"People become less cynical once you show them the numbers or once you show the data or graphs" explained Soto.
More recently, David Trinidad who goes by YoungPTone on Reddit posted an inquiry about his wife's abnormal Fitbit records. According to his post, his wife logged 10 hours in the fat burning zone. Having been around her the whole day, he is certain that her activities would not burn as much calories as is charted on the device. Consequently, some redditors speculated that YoungPTone's wife must be pregnant since it is known that women's hear rates increase from 30 to 50% when they are carrying a child.
The couple has since gone to the doctor to confirm their assumption. And lo and behold, David Trinidad's wife is indeed pregnant. David and his wife Ivonne have also gushed about the kind words strangers have extended to their growing family since the news became viral. They have decided to share their Fitbit baby journey on Instagram.
"I am a regular guy who was just looking for the communities help with his wife's technology issue (we've all been there, right?). Little did i know I got alot more than I bargained for" exclaimed Trinidad on Reddit.
