The "Attack on Titan" game based on the popular manga, anime and film with the same name is coming to Japan this February 18. But even though the game is yet to be unveiled and played by gamers, the game developing studio is already announcing upgrades that should get the game a lot more interesting.
According to Anime News Network, "the update will introduce an online cooperative mode that will support up to four players, with cross-platform play from the game's PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita versions." The update will be for free although no set date has been announced for this feature to be included in the game.
This announcement definitely ups the ante in the game. "Attack on Titan" is not your typical game because it follows the challenges faced by Survey Corps as they handle the different types of attacks of titans. A gameplay where everyone could combine their efforts online definitely changes the game's dynamics.
A co-op mode even becomes more interesting and unique compared to the original manga/anime source. According to Gear Nuke, "the game will include a large number of original weapons and more weapons and items can be obtained by killing titans and through the 'Investigation Outside the Walls Mode' in Attack on Titan." Players can practically create a unique adventure using the backdrop and storyline of the popular manga.
Gematsu even reported that the upcoming game will feature weapons development. The original weapons introduced in the game should give players additional options on upgrading their game or customizing their weapons in order to work well with the group and defeat the enemy.
The game will focus on the Battle of Trost. Players could follow the story mode as they go through various challenges and later work on their favorite parts of the game after completion. There is also a tutorial mode that actually emulates the training ground on the anime.
Meanwhile, for fans wondering when "Attack on Titan" game PS4 release date for the US will be, Game Spot reported that it will be launched shortly after the Japanese version, which is bound to be released in February 2016.
