Will Kim Sears’ Baby Be A Tennis Star Like Dad Andy Murray? Grandma Judy Thanks Fans For Messages

(Photo : (Photo by Paul Kane/Getty Images)) PERTH, AUSTRALIA: Andy Murray of Great Britain, partnered with Heather Watson looks on in the mixed doubles match against Caroline Garcia and Kenny De Schepper of France during day two of the 2016 Hopman Cup at Perth Arena on January 4, 2016 in Perth, Australia.

The good genes of Andy Murray and wife Kim Sears (her father was also a tennis player in his day) would mean that the baby could grow up to be athletic like her daddy. But what if she wants to play tennis, too?

Her parents might not allow that.

According to Simon Briggs of The Telegraph, the numbers are against her playing tennis.

"While sporting dynasties seem common enough in team sports - think of the Broads in cricket, the Lampards in football, the Youngs family in rugby union - they are almost vanishingly rare in tennis," it said.

"Since the turn of the century we have seen just three top-100 parent-child duos: the Dents of America, the Johanssons of Sweden and the Roger-Vasselins of France."

Also, there's the fact that tennis could be absolutely demanding.

"Most tennis players know the trials, tribulations, and mental anguish of the tour too well to want their children to do the same thing. They wouldn't wish that on anyone," former tennis player Annabelle Croft told the publication.

Meanwhile, on "Gorgeous Grandma Day," Judy Murray thanked the fans for the sweet messages they sent for Andy Murray and Kim Sears as they prepare to welcome their baby daughter.

"Thank you for all the baby messages. Thrilled to bits. Love from Granny," she tweeted.

And Judy Murray already knows the look that she's going for when Andy Murray and Kim Sears' baby arrives.

On Feb. 10, she tweeted cartoon pic of a grandma wearing a pink cardigan over a yellow sweater. The message reads, "Today is National Gorgeous Grandma Day! Here's a smile for all you crazy grandmas."

In the comments, she quipped, "Gonna cultivate that look. It rocks. Cardi and sensible shoes. Knitting. Bowling. My kinda thing."

Andy Murray and Kim Sears are expecting the arrival of their baby any day now. The tennis ace also took the rest of the month off to spend time with his family.
