The Cleveland Cavaliers are in the middle of trade rumors despite their place at the top of the Eastern Conference standings.
Usually, a team with the best record in their Conference would not consider a change, but the expectations are too high for the Cavs, with a "championship or bust" demeanor.
Thus, any player underperforming would be trade rumor fodder. Kevin Love was a top 10 player in the NBA before moving to Cleveland and other teams still revere him as such. The rumors cite that Love is simply "not a good fit.
Now, to complete the trade rumor, there should be interest from other teams. The Boston Celtics oblige, as they still seek a big name. The big news from the NY Daily News had the big story of a possible blockbuster that sends Kevin Love to the Celtics, Carmelo Anthony going to Cleveland and the Celtics sending a package of draft picks and expiring contracts.
No less than Cleveland Cavaliers' superstar LeBron James' comments on NBC Sports refuted these talks.
"It's false," LeBron said of the rumors. "It's the only thing I can look at it and say it's false. That's the last thing guys are worried about right now are trade talks from our team."
Being the world's best player for years, James is hardly ever in trade rumors, but there have been media frenzies on every mistake the King makes. This is not new to him, or even to Kevin Love himself.
He continued: "One thing about this business is you can only control what you can control. Things that you can't control, you can't let it bother you, and I've learned that over the years," LeBron said. "There is so much that goes on in professional sports that if you just focus on what you can control, everything else will take care of itself."
The NY Daily News report did say that they were doubtful the rumored trade would actually happen, and James would like to believe that he has hammered the nail on the coffin.
