If you are a Windows phone or Lumia fan, you might also be in love with the upcoming Microsoft Surface phone.
When Microsoft had Nokia under its wing, the Lumia line was given birth. Recently, rumors of Microsoft releasing a Surface phone began to emerge.
According to PC Tablet, Microsoft's Surface phone is rumored to replace the existing Lumia line of smartphones, defacing it in the future.
Reportedly, the rumored Surface phone has not been officially announced by Microsoft. But according to the rumors, the new line of smartphones will be based roughly on the Surface tablets. Also, with the rise of this new line of smartphones, Microsoft's not-so-good performance at the smartphone market will be reversed.
According to Forbes, the alleged line of Surface phones from Microsoft could change the company's outlook for 2016 because apparently the Lumia 950 and 950 XL smartphones "have not set the world" alight.
"They feel more like developer units than consumer retail devices. In a sense, I think they are. The major goals of the Lumia 950 and Lumia XL are wrapped up in Microsoft's future hardware and software," explained Ewan Spence of Forbes.
Recently, Tech Crunch also reported about the release of the Lumia 650, which is a Windows 10 phone.
In line with this, the Lumia 650 is reported to be a cheaper variant (at $199) of last year's Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL.
Natasha Lomas of Tech Crunch also explained previously that Windows phone is becoming an "ex-platform." With Microsoft's mobile profit decreased by 49 percent, even CEO Satya Nadella has admitted that their numbers have lowered down ever since the company's "strategy change in Jul. 2015."
Meanwhile, Computer World deems that the Lumia 650 "is not the Microsoft Surface phone that we really want."
Apparently, the new Lumia phone does not have the features most consumers want, like the Microsoft Hello and Continuum.
The upcoming Surface phone from Microsoft is supposed to be a flagship device and is rumored to have an industrial physical design similar to the Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 tablet.
