"Outlander" season 2 looks unfamiliar with Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe's new look in the poster.
The sequel series' poster has just announced the release date of "Outlander." The two lead stars of the series are seen lavishly dressed in the French style while posing for the camera.
According to TV Line, the new poster features the characters Claire and Jaime in their new wardrobe as they walk up the stairs in Versailles. Jaime is dressed in a French ensemble and his partner dressed in an elegant and striking red dress.
Apart from the beautiful background, the words "Vives les Fraser" is captioned across the poster. The caption translates to "Long life the Frasers."
"Claire's red dress is one of the many elements that fans have been looking forward to in the new season," reported Inquisitr. "In the books, Claire's wears the iconic dress when she goes to meet up with France's King, Louis XV. Based on the amazing poster art, her appearance in red should cause just as much of a stir on the show as it did in the books, especially with Jamie."
"Outlander" season 2 was reportedly true to the book and, according to E! Online, "Dragonfly In Amber" by Diana Gabaldon was the basis material for the new adventures of the characters played by Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan.
The French theme may be confusing to some viewers as the story had originally taken place in Scotland. While Paris may not be the same as Jaime and Claire's old home, they do their best to adjust to their situation and at the same time accomplish their mission to prevent the Battle of Culloden.
A new story isn't the only thing to look forward. Along with the new time period come new characters. Fans will be introduced to characters such as Roger, Comte St. Germain, Mother Hildegarde, Jared Fraser and Alex Randall. However, the most important character to look out for is Claire and Jaime's first child, Brianna.
There will be only 13 episodes in the upcoming season 2 of "Outlander" when Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan return on Starz on April 9, 2016.
