Nina Dobrev fans are still awaiting news of her coming back on "The Vampire Diaries." Amid the anticipation, the Elena Gilbert actress made her followers even more excited when she spent some time with some cast members from season 7.
As seen on her social media feed, the Bulgarian-Canadian actress met with some stars of the current season at a recent party and had the best caption to describe the moment.
"Season 6 meets season 7," she wrote on Instagram. "And some new additions."
The picture featured the 27-year-old actress with some friends but what caught the attention of her fans was Todd Lasance, who plays Julian in the TV series. Many of the actress' social media followers immediately hoped that the picture was an indication that she will come back in the vampire TV series soon.
News reports and rumors even have it that Nina Dobrev seemingly appeared to have been missed on "The Vampire Diaries" as well. According to an item on Celeb Dirty Laundry, it was her ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder that may be missing the Elena Gilbert actress as part of the cast.
Aside from purportedly missing Dobrev, the 37-year-old actor also has been apparently calling on fans to support their TV series. Rumors of a possible cancellation of the show have been swirling since the "Final Girls" actress left it. On Somerhalder's Twitter feed, he has been constantly promoting the new Friday timeslot prompting gossip that he may already be in panic over the future of their show.
Nina Dobrev dropped the news that she was leaving "The Vampire Diaries" just months before season 6 ended last year. She also said in an Entertainment Weekly interview that her acting chapter on the show was already over. Executive producer Caroline Dries though felt Dobrev was still part of the show's cast somehow.
"It's a total challenge and it helps that she is Damon's touchstone for every decision that he makes, even when she was on the show," she told Collider about Dobrev's character Elena Gilbert. "It helps that that is why Damon is making the decisions that he's making. So yeah, I still think that she does stay present."
