It's official! "So You Think You Can Dance" is finally returning to the television screen with an all new mind-boggling twist! Excited?
Earlier this month, Fox Entertainment officially renewed the award-winning dance competition show for season 13, which is slated to shake up an all new more youthful yield of contestant's format.
Yes, read it right! As the upcoming season will showcase dancers between the ages of 8-13, who are sufficiently gifted in different dance move styles - ballroom, hip-hop, tap, contemporary and among others.
Furthermore, the best captivating part? The divinely selected individual will be paired up with All-Stars to compete for the title of America's Favorite Dancer.
"We are so happy to bring back the award-winning 'So You Think You Can Dance' for a 13th season this summer with a brand-new format," said David Madden, President of Entertainment at Fox, as noted by Variety.
"The series has captivated its loyal fan base for over a decade, inspiring young dancers across the country and transforming the face of dance in every medium - and we're so excited to feature a young and talented new group of performers on the series," he added.
The show's episode 13 is dubbed "So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation" where Cat Deeley returns as the host, with judges Nigel Lythgoe, Jason Derulo and Paula Abdul.
In the quest for a talented dancer, the Chicago Tribune have revealed that the competition show is holding up a Chicago audition for dancers' ages 9-13 beginning next month.
"Dancers try out in front of the judges for a place at "The Academy." The top 10 dancers are partnered with an all-star and sent to the show's studio, where they compete each week in a variety of dance styles," the report revealed.
Excited? The award-winning dance competition show is scheduled to premiere on May 30.
