A few days back due to the outbreak of Zika Virus, Tata motors decided to rename their car Zica. They have launched a contest on Facebook and have invited car lovers to come up with interesting names which can fit the bill.
As per the latest news on BBC, Tata Motors have labelled themselves as "as a socially responsible company" and being the fifth largest car manufacturers in India they have a responsibility towards the nation.
Zica was showcased in the auto-expo under the old name which was held in Pragati Maidan in New Delhi at the beginning of the month. As per car trade, Zica was supposed to be launched to give a boost to its low-cost car segment. Eventually, Tata has plans to discontinue Indica eV2. Once the Tata Zica would have been launched it would have taken that step.
There are refreshed headlamps and new hood which makes this design a little different from the Tata Indica. There is a new radiator grille which is added to this new car. It is based on XO platform and is expected to remain a low range price car.
There will be a 1.05-litre tri-cylinder engine and the performance of the upcoming car is expected to be good. A five-speed manual gearbox will keep the costs low. The price range for this car will be between 3.8 Lakhs to 5.5 Lakhs and it will be available in both petrol and diesel variants.
All the specifications are mentioned in the Car Trade Website. Now the million dollar question comes that when will the car be launched with a new name which was originally expected to be launched in Feb. 2016.
