Fans of "The Good Wife" may not completely be saying goodbye to the series as season 7 became its final run.
Showrunners have revealed spoilers that a spinoff from the series may possibly happen.
As reported by Access Hollywood, co-creators Robert and Michelle King recently revealed about the political drama series as it reached its final run.
"At this point, nothing's off the table, but there's nothing formal and sure, maybe," Michelle said about a spinoff during a press conference last week as quoted by the source above. "We're not saying no to anything at this point."
"I think what would be appealing about it is there are all these fun characters that you maybe didn't see as much as you wanted. We wished they were regulars and you could explore other lives, but the show has always been kind of geared around the Alicia character and so, anyway, I guess the bottom line is what would be appealing is pursuing a different ensemble."
While the spinoff was still unsure, fans of "The Good Wife" season 7 will still have some big treats in the coming months. In spoilers reported by E! News, past characters will be returning.
"Yes, a lot," Robert said about the number of characters that will be returning. "What we wanted to do is see even some people you probably haven't even seen for two years, like Robyn [Jess Weixler] and so on. See where they have kind of ended up and landed."
Showrunners refused to name who will be coming though.
"Some of these we want to be surprises," Robert said.
Before the spinoff possibility, rumors that "The Good Wife" will be on its final run have been a part of many spoilers for months. But the buzz got stronger when the Kings revealed that season 7 will be the last one they will helm.
As told by Variety last month, they were focusing on their other projects.
According to Vulture, Lead star Julianna Margulies also hinted recently that she will be "unemployed" come April making fans believe that the end might be near. But it was only earlier this month that the rumors were confirmed.
As stated by The New York Times, CBS made the announcement of the final season in a big way -- via a Super Bowl 50 advertisement.
