The NBA trade rumors has reached its peak days before the trade deadline and the Cleveland Cavaliers still want to make changes.
Despite being projected as the only championship contender from the Eastern Conference and therefore, having a probable easier path to the Finals, the Cavs feel that they need some improvements to challenge the Golden State Warriors or San Antonio Spurs and thus, Chris Haynes of Cleveland.com reported the Ben McLemore news.
"The Cavaliers, along with a handful of other Eastern Conference teams, have strong interest in trading for Sacramento Kings guard Ben McLemore, league sources told cleveland.com," Haynes reported.
The athletic guard from the Sacramento Kings has not been utilized much by Coach George Karl and there are many critics who want to see him "unleashed." Being traded to the Cavs will free him from the alleged dysfunction of the Sacramento franchise and have him play with LeBron James as part of a possible championship run.
However, it is not clear what the Cavaliers can offer in exchange for McLemore so the Kings may have other plans. According to Basketball Insiders, Sacramento is targeting Thabo Sefolosha.
One situation to watch is Atlanta, as the Kings have eyes for Thabo Sefolosha," BI's Steve Kyler wrote. "The Hawks have been looking for help along the perimeter and may be willing to part with Sefolosha for the right package. McLemore could be enticing enough to get a deal done."
It is speculated that trading would the Atlanta Hawks would be easy at this time since they are actually rumored to be trading members of their core like Al Horford and Jeff Teague. Thus, the Kings could probably get Sefolosha at the right price.
