It's been a long while since updates and news on "Max Payne" has been revealed and to date, no re-release date has been announced. What does it mean? Will the game be coming to PS4 consoles or not?
Recently, the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) evaluated the 2001's third-person game, "Max Payne," with an M or Mature rating for blood and brutality title for PS4.
Thus, such ESRB rating seemingly suggests that the said PlayStation 2 classic could land on the PS4 world at any point in the near future, where some speculated that this 2016 might be the year that all of the fans have been waiting for.
Notwithstanding of that certainty that there's no such re-release has been announced thus far. Sony has previously announced that they have plans to bring PlayStation 2 games to PS4 - which further fuel re-release speculations and some even asserted that "Max Payne" might be one, Game Spot reported.
However, Irish Examiner, in its report, noted that there's no other "Max Payne" title at present being developed.
Nonetheless, on and off the chance that PS2 classic "Max Payne" will get a re-release in PS4 consoles, some believed that the game might be getting a minor upgrade, as beforehand noted.
Created by Remedy Entertainment and published by Rockstar Games, the original "Max Payne" is a third-person shooter action thriller video game that focuses on NYPD Detective, "Max Payne," who attempts to retaliate for the homicide of his family.
Upon its release, the game was generally welcomed fans and critics alike across the globe, not to mention that the game highlights a gritty neo-noir style and uses realistic novel boards with voice-overs, in place of animated cutscenes to narrate the game.
