Jimmy Fallon's "Tonight Show" was still beating Stephen Colbert's "The Late Show" in recent ratings.
According to TV By The Numbers, Fallon's show got about 3.09 million viewers during the period of Feb 1-5 despite airing some repeats. "The Late Show" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live" followed the leading host of late night with more than two million viewers on the 18-49 demographic during the same period.
As reported by Variety, Jimmy Fallon's "Tonight Show" still knocked out his competitors despite Stephen Colbert recently making record-high ratings when his show aired right after Super Bowl 50 more than a week ago.
As predicted by Fortune, "The Late Show" only managed to spike a bit in the ratings but immediately went back on its typical ratings by the next day.
The latest rating reign came just in time that the former "SNL" cast member was celebrating his second year of hosting the late-night TV show.
In an interview, the 41-year-old mentioned he didn't even notice that it was already the show's anniversary as he was having so much fun.
"No, it feels like it's been two weeks," the New Yorker told the Los Angeles Times on reaching year number two on the talk show.
"They were like, 'We're going to have an anniversary show.' And I'm like, 'Anniversary show? How long have we been on?' So it was cool to have those two hours to relive some of those moments."
He also hinted on Jay Leno possibly appearing on the show again.
"We asked him if he wanted to stop by the show -- we always ask him," Fallon shared. "He's the nicest guy ever, he never wants to steal the attention. He's like, 'You're doing good, buddy, you don't need me.' And I'm like, 'We do. We want you.' Hopefully, he'll be coming out."
Jimmy Fallon took over the "Tonight Show" on Feb. 17, 2014. Stephen Colbert, on the other hand, started hosting "The Late Show" last September.
