Drake's new and upcoming album for 2016 "Views From The 6," has been in the works for a couple of years now; first announcing the project's title in 2014, according to HipHopDX.

The Toronto rapper's producer and musical right-hand man, is Noah "40" Shebib. He was recently interviewed, sharing that the forthcoming record is slated for release in April.

Shebib has been with the singer since the release of the 2009 mixtape, "So Far Gone." The two have been splitting work between the "Hotline Bling" artist's home in Southern California and 40's studio in Toronto, reported The New York Times.

It has been approximately two and half years since Drake's "Nothing Was the Same," but he was far from silent during that period. In 2015, mixtape "If You're Reading This It's Too Late" was released and the rapper also collaborated with Atlanta rapper, Future. The two worked on the full-length album, "What A Time To Be Alive."

"After 'Nothing Was the Same,' Drake was like, 'I want to do a rap project,'" recalled Shebib. "He wanted to do what all the other rappers get to do, but that approach is a thing we can't do that much on a Drake album. We have other fans we need to satisfy."

For months now, fans have been teased and are highly anticipating Drake's new album for 2016. Shebib added that the record will be what "everybody expects and wants from Drake" and his team.

The producer added that there will be "new flows, new cadences, new patterns" and he is trying to incorporate untraditional sounds. He also said, he wants to push the boundaries with this record.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that the rapper made a birthday celebrant very happy, by crashing her Bat Mitzvah in New York, Saturday. Drake performed "Summer Sixteen," which is his single from his new album for 2016. He also sang, "Back to Back," "Hotlinge Bling" and "My Way" by Fetty Wap, revealed Billboard.

Twitter fansite "Word On Road," posted videos of Drizzy at the party.
