While, "Outlander" season 2 is scheduled to arrive on April 9, 2016, new spoilers suggest the season will witness a lot of politics, drama, backstabbing and darkness.
In an interview with TV Guide, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, who plays Jamie Fraser and Claire Randall Fraser, revealed what fans can expect from the upcoming season 2 of the popular American period drama show.
"We both found this world to be just about familiar but unsettling," Heughan said, reported Movie News Guide. "It's less weapons. It's more politics, more backstabbing and darkness. There are some pretty dangerous characters involved."
Spoilers suggest the upcoming episodes of "Outlander" season 2 will revolve around Claire and Jamie's France journey.
The two will try to get inside the French aristocracy in order to stop the impending Jacobite rebellion led by Prince Charles Stuart (Andrew Gower), reported Christian Post.
The season 2 will introduce two new characters in the show. The first character to be introduced will be Brianna Randall, Claire and Jamie's daughter. The role will be played by Sophie Skelton. As described in the Outlander novels, Brianna is an intelligent but stubborn redheaded woman.
The second newcomer will be Roger Wakefield, the adopted son of Reverend Reginald Wakefield (James Fleet). The role will be played by Richard Rankin.
The new "Outlander" season 2 promotional video shows the Scotsman saying Claire, "Promise me that we'll always find a way back into each other. Wherever you go, make sure you're safe."
By the end of the clip, Claire is shown back in the original timeline lying in the hospital bed.
The second season of the drama show will consist of 13 episodes and is based on Diana's novel called "Dragonfly in Amber."
