When the crossover between "23 Jump Street" and "Men In Black" was first heard, it was not really taken seriously because as it is, merging the two films proves to be crazy and exaggerated.

Last year, accordingly, the rumors of a "23 Jump Street" and "Men in Black" crossover got really hyped up when last December, the infamous "Sony leaks" revealed that Sony, indeed, gave a go signal to the crossover of the two famous franchises.

Today, however, fans still wonder if such crossover is still happening and what are the developments, if there are. According to Crossmap, Phil Lord and Chris Miller denied in an interview with MTV during the Golden Globes that the possibility remains small for such a crossover to happen.

"Nothing's changed," he said. "It's still a crazy idea, and we only do things that seem like they're going to be terrible. We're really focusing on what's a great story for Schmidt and Jenko and how to tell the next chapter in their lives. And perhaps use creatures from another world at the same time."

Furthermore, Crossmap added that there are still several issues to resolve before the crossover could happen. First, "Men in Black" director Steven Spielberg's blessing is still needed for the project to push through and Sony is definitely not doing it without the director's go signal.

Second, Phil Lord and Chris Miller admitted that all of these are merely ideas. According to them, they are developing a lot of things, which may or may not happen. "That's how the business works," they said.

On the other hand, the same directors revealed in an interview with SlashFilm that "23 Jump Street" apparently would stick to the idea of the "22 Jump Street" montage, where Schmidt and Jenko went to medical school.

"We are hard at work on 23 Jump Street, which I think we will probably just produce from a time standpoint. But we've been working really hard. We've got a really good first draft of a script in and we're really excited about it."
