In a recent Forbes report, it was revealed that Apple plans to release three variants of Apple iPhone 7, differing in sizes. Historically, the tech leader only releases one variant of the said device until it evolved to two since iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
According to the report, KGI Securities' Ming-Chi Kuo, regarded as "the best Apple analyst on the planet," reaffirmed that Apple is indeed releasing not two, but three models of the forthcoming iPhone 7. It elaborated that aside from the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models, the third iPhone 7 will go along with a similar 5.5-inch body but with premium specifications. Others dubbed this phone as "iPhone 7 Pro" but the tech giant hasn't confirmed or revealed anything yet regarding its name.
The report furthermore discussed that the main difference between the Plus and the Pro is the camera. It stated that the Pro is expected to have a superb camera than the Plus. According to Kuo, the new variant will sport a dual-lens camera system created by LinX which will enable it to produce quality high-speed and low-light shots as well as the ability to integrate 2 to 3x optical zoom.
Meanwhile, some consumers think that this update could be game-changing for the company, while others think this could be a bad move for the tech giant. Enumerating their current and upcoming variants, Apple already have the iPhone SE, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus which are already more than enough variety with the iPhone 7 Pro still out of the picture. Addition of this new product can potentially cause confusion among consumers.
For the mean time, we can only follow the timeline release of iPhone to expect that the iPhone 7 will be released this fall. By that time, consumers will be able to verify if the claim for a superb iPhone 7 plus is really true, or we are just going to be introduced with the usual iPhone duo.
