Veteran actor George Clooney recently announced that he is contemplating the move to retire from acting. The 54 year old versatile actor is looking more at directorial projects than acting ones.

In a comprehensive story covered by ABC, the veteran actor has mentioned that he is thinking about moving out of the acting scene. Even though ''Hail, Caesar!" was appreciated by the critics and the fans alike, Clooney thinks that the time has come for him to spend more time behind the cameras.

BBC has an exclusive interview of the ''Ocean's Thirteen'' famed star Clooney where he talked about his future plans. He was promoting the film ''Hail, Caesar!" and talked about his reluctance to age on-screen.

"As you age on screen you get to that point where you really understand that, you know, you can't stay in front of the camera your whole life," he said. "It's much more fun to be, and it's infinitely more creative to be directing. I think nobody really wants to see anybody really age. You know, it's a very unforgiving thing, the camera is, and so aging becomes something that you know, you try to do less and less on screen. You try to pick the films that work best for you and as you age they become less and less."

There were also rumors that his wife Amal Clooney (née Alamuddin) and he might be calling off their marriage soon. Then there were rumors that Amal might be pregnant. There is no confirmation from the actor about either of the situations.

Clooney has already directed a bunch of films like ''Confessions of a Dangerous Mind'' (2002), ''Good Night, and Good Luck'' (2005), ''Leatherheads'' (2008), ''The Ides of March'' (2011) and ''The Monuments Men'' (2014). Referring to his passion for direction "It is my great love," said Clooney. E online did a complete covergage of this news.

Way back in 2014, in an interview with The Christian Post, George had talked about his love for directing. ''I prefer directing to other things. Directing and writing, I think, seem infinitely more creative." George also thanked the people from whom he learnt about directing films. "I've worked with the Coen brothers, Alexander Payne...I see what they're doing and steal it," confessed the veteran actor. So now will the fans have to wait for his appearances on the film festivals and award functions only?

Clooney has written the scripts of many of the films which he directed and produced them too. So what's next for this multi-talented actor-director?
