With a few months from its release in September, several photos of the iPhone 7 case already leaked online.
In a Twitter post by user @OnLeaks, photos of a supposed case for the upcoming flagship phone surfaced just recently.
Alphr mentioned in its report that the likeliness of the leaked case design is high, noting that although revelations like these usually don't excite consumers, the predictions are accurate. Furthermore, this also opens window on the idea of what the next iPhone might look like.
Looking further into the case's design, Alphr noted the case suggests an enlarged camera slot, but doesn't guarantee the exact design of iPhone's new camera. In addition, the case is observed to have space for curved edges and a flat back, characteristics which are similar to the current model. Despite this similarity, Alphr noted that Apple is planning to use ceramic materials at the back portion of the iPhone 7, straying away from the usual aluminum body metal it is mostly made of.
Digging further into the case's design, one thing is noticeable: the lack of provision for the headphone jack. It can be observed that the bottom portion of the case provided only three holes: one at the center for the Lightning Port, and two equally lengthy holes for an enhanced speaker setup, The Week reported. Although previous reports already suggested that the upcoming iPhone will be "jack-less," these freshly leaked photos may just confirm that the speculations are true.
It is expected that the iPhone 7 will be on top of the iPhone 5SE, whose launch date is slated this March. The iPhone 7 is also foreseen as a close rival to the recently released Samsung Galaxy S7.
Despite these "almost" confirmations, consumers should still consider possibilities of major changes in the coming months since September is still a few months away.
