In China, a mother and father who can't afford the medical treatment for their sick daughter are putting the girl's twin brother on sale. On the streets of China, a woman, with a little boy on her side, is holding a sign that her son is up for a bid. According to her, as bad as it looks, this was the only choice they have to save both of their kids.

The money will be used to pay for the medical expenses of urgent chemotherapy and cancer treatment of her daughter. Meng Xiangyan, 29, said that her daughter might die if they cannot send her to have medical treatment for her leukemia. They have decided to sell their son to a good home to give both of their children a chance to live.

In August last year, their daughter was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. They once had a wonderful family and lived happily with the twins who were blessings to her and her husband. "But all changed when my daughter was diagnosed as suffering from leukemia in August of last year and we spent all of our savings and borrowed everything we could from friends and relatives," she added.

Medical staff said that the little girl needs urgent medical treatment which includes chemotherapy sessions every 10 days at the Rizhao Municipal Hospital. All the properties of the family were already sold including their apartment and everything in it. Now, they are living in a small 10 square meters flat close to the hospital. However, the apartment isn't warm enough to prevent her daughter from getting sick because chemotherapy treatments may alter the child's immune response.

Her case was not the first time a Chinese mother tried to sell their child on the streets. Another woman tried to sell her daughter in order to raise money for her husband's medical fees. Her husband met an accident at work as a migrant worker and needs urgent surgery which they could not afford.
