Kirstie Alley Does an Amazing Thing with Her Body

Do you miss Kirstie Alley? She's been pretty silent for the most part of 2014, and people can't definitely help but wonder: where was she?

Don't worry, she's doing fine-in fact, she was extremely great. Unknown perhaps to many, she spent a huge part of last year losing as much as 50 pounds.

Alley, who became popular after starring in Cheers and a Star Trek franchise, started her weight loss by partnering with Jenny Craig, a popular weight loss service in the country that promotes healthy eating and portion control.

In her interview with ET, she shared that she chose Jenny Craig because she likes to eat great food.

But how did she do it? First, she was focused on her goal. She began aiming for 30 pounds, yet she went down quickly. She also wanted to use her old wardrobe, not buy new dresses. Thus, she set her sights higher for 50 pounds. She initially thought that her objective was ambitious, even "crazy," but it's the craziness that compelled her to lose more weight.

She also credited Jenny Craig, which served as her own support while she's trying to lose weight. Every week, she said, she met with one of the consultants of the company who then continuously tweaked her food plan according to what she found easy or difficult during the entire journey. Aside from a proper diet, she also biked for miles.

Her present weight loss experience also taught her two things: she had to be responsible of her life and that the key to truly losing weight is to do it the healthy way possible. It should also be something that can be maintained.

When asked for her advice for those who want to lose weight this year, she said that they simply had to do it for themselves, not for others.

This isn't the first time Alley attempted to lose weight.
