The highly-rated "Better Call Saul" cast all have been praised, following the success of the hit AMC TV series.

As previously reported, the series focuses on the life of Walter White's snarky lawyer, Saul Goodman, played by Bob Odenkirk.

One of the characters in the series includes Chuck McGill, a goody-two-shoes lawyer played by Michael McKean.

He recently went on an interview with Esquire, and talked about the show and about his role.

Upon being asked as to whether the actor met Director Vince Gilligan on the set of X Files, where he previously appeared in, he said, "I did. He, [John Shiban], and Frank Spotnitz wrote this episode called "Dreamland." It was a pair of episodes. It was a great character and a very, very funny situation. I met Vince and we had nice conversations and he kept bringing me back-I did that part a few times. Over the years we've talked about doing something together and there have been kind of geographical problems. I've been working in New York so much over the last 10 years. I was just not available. So this time it worked out beautifully."

Explaining how he talks with Vince about his character, McKean said, "I knew very little before saying yes because I trust Vince and I was a huge 'Breaking Bad' fan. So he says, 'You want to work?' and you say, 'Yeah.' Then he did say, 'Well, the guy's got an affliction. It keeps him in the house. He doesn't go out much.' That's all I knew before I had a real conversation with him about it."

He added, "I was kind of terrified that it would turn out to be head-to-toe psoriasis, that I'd be in the makeup chair for six hours every show. So, I'm glad it wasn't that. But this strange, kind of psycho-physical problem this man seems to have, it's been intriguing to research and I can't really talk too much about it because part of the fun is finding out what it is. But when the writing is that good, there are not a lot of questions."

To add to the "Better Call Saul" Cast news, Michael Mckean hinted that there is more to Chuck McGill's character. When his character was described to be one of the kindest characters in the history of the whole "Breaking Bad" franchise he claimed that it was about time that he played a nice guy role.

"You don't know [yet]! But, no, I've played a lot of assholes. It was nice to be this guy who's, hopefully, a sympathetic character. I'm not one of those 'let's kill all the lawyers' guys, you know, but he's a man of the letter of the law. And he's very good at it. His clients are extremely wealthy for the most part and he does his pro bono work and he's a good lawyer and he's a good man. Until... systems change around him. Then he's a functionary of that system, of that new system."

Other "Better Cal Saul" cast members include Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks, Rhea Seehorn, and Michael Mando.
