"Kingdom Hearts 3" currently ranks at 7th place among video games according to Famitsu. Famitsu's most wanted game votes were voted by players from February 19-25. However, the more popular games turned out to be "Persona 5," "Bravely Second" and "Final Fantasy XV," reported Gamespresso. This may not sit right with fans of "Kingdom Hearts 3." The next-generation titles fell in the 7th spot and were overtaken by the PS4 edition of "Persona 5" and "Fire Emblem" on 3DS.
One reason for this could by the long wait period for the "Kingdom Hearts 3" and the ensuing loss of interest in the game. The scenario may also be that Square Enix needs more time get press releases out for the game expected for arrival for the PS4 and the Xbox One. However, no release date was announced.
"Kingdom Hearts 3" release date has been set for Feb. 2016. Since then Sony has posted that a launch will no recent and that the launch is likely to take off in 2016.
Apart from "Final Fantasy 15" and "Kingdom Hearts 3," there is little that is known about Square Enix's future games for PS4 and Xbox One. However Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda said in an interview with Nikkei that the company has more surprises planned for the near future.
"At the moment, we have major titles such as 'Dragon Quest Heroes' and 'Final Fantasy Type-0 HD,' Matsuda said.
"In 2015, I believe we will offer a vast number of high-end games in both the domestic market and overseas. Now that we've already announced 'Final Fantasy XV,' we will also reveal information on [another] JRPG. I believe we have a bit of a surprise in store for this year," reported Crossmap.
When asked about the "surprise," Matsuda who is also CEO of Square Enix told Nikkei, "It's a JRPG for consoles," adding, "also, our western studios have the latest Tomb Raider title with 'Rise of the Tomb Raider,' 'Just Cause 3,' and many other titles that I believe we can have high expectations of."
