The trailer for "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" has been revealed as well as the character sketches for Inojin, Shikadai and Chōchō. It is slated for release on Aug. 7, 2015 in Japan.
"A long time ago, a great war unfolded, and the world became one. This conclusion was reached, thanks to a single shinobi. This hero is now called: The Seventh Hokage," a voice-over said in the film's first trailer with English subtitles.
"That's stupid as hell! S----y old man... I'll surpass that title! I'm not in the mood to lose!" Boruto Uzumaki, the film's lead, exclaimed.
Fans will finally get to see Naruto and Hinata's son, in action. The story revolves around Boruto and Sarada Uchiha, Sasuke and Sakura's daughter. Both of these characters were introduced in the final chapter of the manga series. Masashi Kishimoto, creator of the original series, will once again be involved in the production of the movie.
"Boruto: Naruto the Movie" will feature all new characters and is going to start off fresh. However, two main characters from the first two series, Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha, will both make an appearance in the film. They will be voiced by their original voice actors, Junko Takeuchi and Noriaki Sugiyama, respectively.
Character sketches for Inojin, Shikadai and Chōchō have been revealed. Inojin is said to have beautiful looks from his father and "he seems to be serious and intelligent." Shikadai also takes after his father in terms of his looks and has a strong-looking expression of competitiveness. Chōchō is described as a pudgy girl whose body type comes from Chōji and skin color from Karui.
A new character named Mitsuki was revealed to be included in the film during the "Naruto-ten" exhibition in Tokyo. His name literally means "full moon" in Japanese. Mitsuki is described as "an enigma shrouded in many mysteries. A boy with a composed expression... His slightly-long white hair has a waviness to it."
