A "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" multiplayer map seemed to have been confirmed for Treyarch's upcoming shooter.
Treyarch's Design Director, David Vonderhaar, was tweeted by a fan about one of the fan-favorite maps in the series. Nuketown is one of the iconic multiplayer maps in video game history similar to Gold Rush in "Team Fortress 2," Lockout in "Halo 2" and Dust in "Counter-Strike."
Twitter user @WeLoveRobDyrdek posted a photo of Nuketown with the caption, "Gone but not forgotten." Vonderhaar replied with a simple, "Says who." Teasing fans yet again with the possibility of Nuketown being one of the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" multiplayer maps.
First enjoyed by players in "Call of Duty: Black Ops," Nuketown also appeared in "Black Ops 2." With its popularity, it is highly likely that this particular map may be found in Treyarch's upcoming shooter.
With E3 2015 coming really soon, Vonderhaar has teased fans about another surprise for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3." Last week, the design director posted a photo on Twitter showing a monkey with some sort of contraption on its back, which looked like a bomb.
"#tbt 'Get ready for a surprise,'" the director tweeted.
A few hours after that, Vonderhaar explained in another tweet that he "can't not wait to show [fans] what's up." He also implied that they are working hard towards the E3 deadline. This might mean that a big reveal is awaiting fans of the game series in the event.
It was previously reported that "CoD: BO3" will have the population map back. This gives players an idea of how many other players are playing the shooter. "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" did not feature the map.
"Black Ops 3" is slated for release this Nov. 6, 2015. It is set in 2060 which is just a few years after "Advanced Warfare." The three-year development of the game has made it possible for the developers to experiment on key features such as movement and fps combat.
