The "Hellraid" release date is currently on hold to make way for the development of another Techland game.
In an interview with Eurogamer, Techland CEO Pawel Marchewka revealed details about the "Hellraid" release date. He also confirmed that the grim fantasy world game was "sent back to the drawing board."
"We conducted an internal analysis and came to the conclusion that Hellraid, in its current shape and form, is not meeting our own expectations," the company stated.
Marchewka said that some time would be given for the clearing of the vision for the game. He admitted that "Hellraid" was trying to become all kinds of things and that the company would be clarifying the direction of the game. He also confirmed that every one of their games had the same problem of trying to achieve everything at once and, even when they cut it in half, the game still turns out bigger than it should be.
"Right now we want to concentrate on 'Dying Light,'" Marchewka said.
"We wanted to be fair with the fans so we wanted to send a clear message, especially as a lot of the people were expecting new things coming from 'Hellraid' at E3 and Gamescom. We decided to take the pressure away."
The Techland CEO said once "Dying Light" has been released during the end of this year's third quarter there is a possibility that they will start sending out new "Hellraid" promotional materials and information. The "Hellraid" release date may even be disclosed once "Dying Light" has been launched.
"It's definitely not dead," the Techland CEO said. "It's just we want to make sure the needs from our Dying Light players are satisfied as quickly as possible and we needed some resources for that."
"Hellraid" is a co-op first person action game set in a grim fantasy world. It will be released for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
