The "Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon" 3DS release date is slated for Sep. 17 in Japan.

Nintendo streamed a trailer during its Nintendo Direct presentation for "Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon" revealing its release date. The video confirmed that the game will be shipped in Japan on Sep. 17 for about $39 for either the package edition or download edition.

"Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon" 3DS will be released in North America this winter and is slated for a European release next spring. The roguelike video game will have changing dungeon layouts. Players can battle alongside Legendary and Mythical Pokémon to save the world from a massive crisis.

Siliconera reported that "Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon" 3DS will be greater than its predecessors. It will feature all 720 Pokémon that appeared in the game series up until now, including all Legendary and Mythical Pokémon.

"You'll get to pick one of 20 Pokémon to become your partner," the Pokémon website stated.

"With the Pokémon you choose, head out on a quest to encounter all 720 Pokémon, including Legendary and Mythical Pokémon. Set off on a grand adventure as you explore ever-changing Mystery Dungeons and connect with Pokémon to save the Pokémon world!"

Japanese fans can preorder the game as early as Jul. 4. Early buyers can expect a few bonuses. Fans who buy a physical copy of the game can expect a set of 3D stickers illustrated by series creator Ken Sugimori along with a home screen theme. Those who will purchase the game digitally will get two home screen themes for their Nintendo 3DS.

Other "Pokémon" titles for Nintendo 3DS are free-to-play games such as "Pokémon Shuffle" and "Pokémon Rumble World." "Shuffle" is a match-three game. It is the company's take on a "Candy Crush"-style system. "Rumble World" is another freemium game where players battle and collect different types of Pokémon.
