"Halo: The Master Chief Collection" "ODST" campaign is a free update which served as the developers' apology for the matchmaking issues that the game has encountered since its launch last year.
According to Digital Spy, only select players are eligible for the add-on. Players were required to have accessed the game's online features between Nov. 11 and Dec. 19 last year. However, "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" "ODST" campaign can be purchased from the Xbox One store.
"The Halo 3: ODST Campaign addition to Halo: The Master Chief Collection will soon be available for purchase from the Xbox Store for $4.99 USD for those that do not qualify for the free offer," 343 Industries wrote on its blog.
The "Halo 3: ODST" campaign update arrived along with a remake of the "Halo 2" multiplayer map, named "Relic." It was also offered as a complementary download for the game. "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" brought together HD versions of the first two "Halo" games as well as for "Halo 3" and "Halo 4." It was released for Xbox One last November.
"Halo: The Master Chief Collection" "ODST" campaign had issues with its installation. Some players reported that the download was stuck at 99% and they being required to re-download the latest large patch.
However, there were some who did not experience this issue. Furthermore, those who were able to launch the "ODST" campaign noticed that Bungie's "Destiny" Easter egg was removed by 343 Industries as reported by Eurogamer.
The "Halo 5: Guardians" has been confirmed for Oct. 27 of this year. 343 Industries' game will be published exclusively for Xbox One. Xbox Head Phil Spencer confirmed that E3 is a major event for "Halo 5" and that 343 Industries have been doing their best to get ready for the upcoming expo. 343 Industries will provide post-launch support after the game's release, according to 343 Industries Executive Producer Josh Holmes.
