The "Naruto" manga franchise will get three more novels.
Anime News Network reported that the official website for Shueisha's Jump J Books label of novels announced that "Naruto" will receive three novels. "Naruto: The Tale of the Utterly Purehearted Shinobi" will be shipped in Japan on Aug. 4. Novels "The True Legend of Itachi" and "The True Legend of Sasuke" are slated to be released this fall.
Masashi Kishimoto's original manga has inspired Akira Higashiyama's novel ("Naruto: The Tale of the Utterly Purehearted Shinobi"). Higashiyama wrote the first of the six-part "Naruto" epilogue novels, "Naruto - Kakashi Hiden: Hyōten no Ikazuchi," as well as a script for "Naruto Shippuden: Blood Prison.
"Naruto: The Tale of the Utterly Purehearted Shinobi" will tell the origin of how Jiraiya's "novel" ("Make-Out Paradise") came about. The novel, also known as "Icha Icha Paradise," is the first in Jiraiya's novel series. "The True Legend of Itachi" and "The True Legend of Sasuke" will be the first two installments in the "Naruto True Legend" novel series. Here, Itachi's past and Sasuke's future will be made clear.
"Naruto - Kakashi Hiden: Hyōten no Ikazuchi" focuses on Kakashi Hatake and his melancholy despite his new position as the Sixth Hogake. Furthermore, a new incident has occurred in the now peaceful, orderly ninja world that needs to be addressed.
"Shikamaru Hiden" will also be released and may feature a battle between Shikamaru and the "strongest genjutsu-user." "Akatsuki Hiden," "Gaara Hiden," "Sakura Hiden" and "Konoha Hiden" has been confirmed as well. Viz Media has licensed "Kakashi Hiden," "Shikamaru Hiden," and "Sakura Hiden" for an English release in North America.
"Boruto: Naruto the Movie" will premiere in Japanese theaters on Aug. 7. It follows the lives of Boruto, Naruto and Hinata's son, Sarada, Sasuke and Sakura's daughter, and Mitsuki, a mysterious new character. Hiroyuki Yamashitais is directing the film and original "Naruto" manga series creator Masashi Kishimoto is involved in the movie's original story, script and character designs.
