It has been recently reported that Kevin Alejandro, popular for his roles in "Arrow" as Sebastian Blood, has joined the cast members of "Lucifer" and will portray Dan in the upcoming TV show. He will be replacing Nicholas Gonzalez as Dan and will constitute reshoot. Does this mean the release date will be moved?

The "True Blood" veteran is said to replace Nicholas Gonzalez, who was originally casted as Dan, in the new TV show "Lucifer." Reports did not mention why Nicholas Gonzalez was replaced by Kevin Alejandro. And there has been no confirmation yet about the reshooting of Gonzalez's scenes for Alejandro. Fans now ask if this move will affect the 2016 release date of the new show.

As mentioned before, Alejandro will portray Dan in the upcoming "Lucifer." According to Deadline, Dan is "a gruff LAPD homicide detective who is wary of Lucifer's involvement with his wife and daughter."

Alejandro will be joining the series regular, Tom Ellis who plays the "bored and unhappy" Lucifer. Basically the show revolves around Lucifer who "abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals."

Despite the fact that he is Lucifer, he still needs a best friend! Lesley-Ann Brandt from "Spartacus" will portray Lucifer's best friend Mazikeen or Maze come the show's 2016 release date. No other information was given regarding her character, who knows maybe she'll be romantically linked to Lucifer or maybe they'll remain in a platonic and friendly relationship.

Along with Ellis, Alejandro and Brandt, Lauren German is also reported to be on the newest TV show "Lucifer." Lauren German will depict the LAPD detective Chloe Dancer come the show's release date in 2016. Apparently, Chloe Dancer is said to have a love-hate relationship with Lucifer.

Joe Henderson, the co-executive producer of "White Collar" along with Jerry Bruckheimer, Len Wiseman, Ildy Modrovich and Jonathan Littman are the showrunners of "Lucifer." While the new TV series is written by Tom Kapinos, it is actually based on the comic book character created by Neil Gaiman.

"Lucifer" release date is set on 2016. Watch the show's official trailer here while waiting for the premiere!
