The fifth season of the anthology "American Horror Story" will be the freakiest season yet! The "AHS: Hotel" showrunner, Ryan Murphy, revealed bone-chilling details about the plot and characters for the upcoming season!
During the Television Critics' Association for "AHS: Hotel," Ryan Murphy teased fans about the plot for the upcoming season. According to an article from Entertainment Weekly, the plot of season 5 was actually inspired by a haunting video that went viral last 2013.
"There was a surveillance video that went around two years ago that showed a girl getting into an elevator in a hotel that was said to be haunted... and she was never seen again," teased the "AHS: Hotel" showrunner.
Putting an end to the never-ending speculations about the plot, Movie Pilot confirmed that the hotel that Ryan Murphy was indeed talking about was the infamous Los Angeles hotel, the Cecil Hotel. Known to be cursed, Cecil Hotel has been where the serial killer, Richard Ramirez, killed his victims. And Jack Unteweger, who was amazed at Ramirez's work, followed his footsteps and also committed his manslaughter activities inside the hotel.
The viral footage of Elisa Lam inside the elevator of the Cecil Hotel served as the inspiration for the plot of "AHS: Hotel." The eerie surveillance video captured the 21-year-old Lam acting odd inside the elevator. Two weeks after the footage was captured, Elisa Lam was found dead inside the water tank of the haunted hotel.
Aside from the plot, the cast members along with Ryan Murphy and co-creator, Brad Falchuk gave fans more details about the characters of "AHS: Hotel." BBC revealed that Gaga's character, whose name will be Elizabeth in the series, will be the evil owner of the hotel.
Gaga will be acting alongside the "AHS" veteran, Sarah Paulson, whose character in "AHS: Hotel" will be a sexy drug addict. Other characters will be portrayed by the other "AHS" vets like Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett and Matt Bomer.
