Emilia Clarke may not reprise her role in the "Terminator" sequel.

Movie News Guide reported that "Terminator: Genisys" did not garner the expected success domestically. The reboot was Arnold Schwarzenegger's return to acting but it flopped at the box office.

Now, there are doubts that "Genisys 2" and "Genisys 3" will be pushed through. The "Terminator" sequel has a planned release date of May 19, 2017 while "Genisys 3" is expected on Jun. 29, 2018.

Another concern, aside from the disappointing box office sales of the film reboot, was the timing of its release. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is slated for release around the same time as "Genisys 2" which may result to another box office flop.

"Genisys 3," on the other hand, is set to open the weekend after "Jurassic World 2." "Captain Marvel" will be released one week after the third installment of the reboot.

Emilia Clarke is blamed for the failure of "Terminator: Genisys." The reboot would have created a place for the "Game of Thrones" star in Hollywood. However, Kdramastars reported that she may not reprise her role as Sarah Connor in the movie's sequel.

"Sadly her acting ability has been called into question and has in part been blamed for the film's flop," an insider told Dish Nation.

"Of course it's not all her fault, but they basically don't want her back. They're saying she doesn't have the star power they thought she did."

The publication speculated that since producers cannot blame the Hollywood legend, Arnold Schwarzenegger, they are pinning the blame on Emilia Clarke.

"It's a shame because the role could have really cemented her place in Hollywood," the insider added, "but instead it's put a downer on it."

The "Game of Thrones" star, who portrays Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO series based on George R.R. Martin's books, has previously expressed her excitement in working with Schwarzenegger for her first Hollywood movie.

"I grew up watching the movies so the spirit of what Linda Hamilton created was already within me anyway," Clarke admitted. "I felt incredibly lucky having the opportunity to take it on in 2015 and put my own stamp on it."
