"The Walking Dead" season 6 is just around the corner with episode 1 and director Greg Nicotero talks details, including the destruction and "hidden gems" coming for fans worldwide.

Latest news have revealed exciting details as episode 1 of "The Walking Dead" season 6 arrives. According to the director of the AMC series, amid the new threats coming for Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), there are more explosive plotlines even as episode 1 premieres in a couple of days.

"We have to reintroduce Morgan to the group, we have to delineate the chain of command in Alexandria in terms of Rick and Deanna, and there's a lot of really great things that happened that we built to at the end of last season that we get to really start in a sort of explosive manner,"  Nicotero said, in an interview with EW.

"What I love about the way [showrunner Scott M. Gimple] writes is he's a very bold writer," added Nicotero. "Scott really respects the audience. With 601, we do play with time a little bit, and not in a traditional sense."

"The Walking Dead" fans have speculated so much detail in the AMC series, including the deaths of main characters including that of Norman Reedus and Steven Yeun. Their characters in season 6, the bow-wielding Daryl Dixon and the runner ex-pizza delivery boy, Glenn Rhee, respectively, have been speculated to meet their death, even as early as episode 1. While the series is now loosely based on its comic counterpart, the fate of both Daryl and Glenn lies in the hands of the people behind "The Walking Dead" season 6 series.

"One of the things that's exciting about it is we sort of open right in the middle of this heightened action sequence, and we then jump around a little bit in that time frame to allow the audience to put together in their own minds what it is that we actually just saw," teased Nicotero for the coming "The Walking Dead" season 6.

The same interview for the nearing "The Walking Dead" season 6 episode 1 also revealed that there have been clues embedded within the previous seasons. Nicotero adds, "Our audience really embraces watching the show over and over again, and we like to craft things where there are always hidden gems in there."

"The Walking Dead" season 6 episode 1 titled "First Time Again" arrives on Oct. 11.
