Niall Horan could possibly work with 5 Seconds of Summer during One Direction's hiatus next year.

It was previously reported that 1D will have their much-deserved break next year. There were rumors that this could be the end for the legendary boy band. However, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson have debunked the allegations and reassured fans that they are not splitting up.

"Ok so lots of rumours going round [sic]," Niall Horan tweeted. "We are not splitting up, but we will be taking a well earned break at some point next year."

Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles and Liam Payne are said to use the upcoming break to work on their solo careers. Styles is currently rumored to have 20 solo songs ready for release. Louis Tomlinson, on the other hand, is expected to become a judge for "X Factor."

Movie News Guide reported that 22-year-old Liam Payne will focus on songwriting and music production. Niall Horan is rumored to work with 5 Seconds of Summer during the 1D hiatus.

5SOS lead singer Luke Hemmings admitted that he would love to write for the Irish singer. "I'd love to write for Niall if he does a solo album," he told the Daily Star.

"We've written for One Direction before and he's a good dude. They are very talented so we would love to get involved."

This sparked speculations that the 22-year-old 1D member might be collaborating with the band next year. The band confirmed that they wanted to see mainstream artists singing about meaningful topics.

"We want to reach out to people and show them no matter how much money you have, you go through the same things as everyone else, but you will get through it," bassist Calum Hood said. "We wrote about the topics people don't want to talk about but we want our fans to be able to relate to our music. No-one in the mainstream pop industry is doing that."
